Julia Turovsky, Ph.D.
Dr. Julia Turovsky is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 25 years of experience working with individuals struggling with anxiety and related disorders. She has worked in research and academic settings prior to starting her private practice and has trained many graduate and post-doctoral students in evidence-based treatments. Dr. Turovsky provides evaluations and treatments to adolescents and adults suffering from anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and mood disorders. Dr. Turovsky has a special interest and experience in working with college students and young adults who are in various stages of life transition.

Education
Dr. Turovsky received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Rutgers University, where she first developed an interest in the scientific study of anxiety. She began conducting research on animal models of stress and anxiety and graduated with honors as a Henry Rutgers scholar. Dr. Turovsky then obtained her Ph.D. from The State University of New York at Albany, where she received extensive training in the evaluation and treatment of anxiety disorders and OCD at the Center for Stress and Anxiety Disorders and the Phobia and Anxiety Disorders Clinic, led by pioneers and experts in the field. Her graduate research focused on the study of panic disorder, social phobia, and pathological worry. Dr. Turovsky then went on to complete her APA-accredited internship at the Institute of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. Finally, Dr. Turovsky completed a Fellowship at Boston University’s Center for Anxiety and Related Disorder (CARD), where she continued doing research, training, and supervision in evidenced based treatments for anxiety disorders.

Dr. Turovsky began her private practice in 2005 and spends much of her time treating patients, supervising students and early career psychologists, and providing education related to mental health to the community.
